Chandrasana |
Chandrasana is derived from a Sanskrit language. In Sanskrit Chandra means half moon while asana means posture. Thus when we combine it means that a posture indicating half moon. Basically in yoga this posture is named as half moon posture and it is being performed after performing other straight postures. While according to the text book it is performed after triangle posture. |

In yoga it is believe that the main source of energies are sun and moon. So when we perform the postures related to moon and sun that the person performing the techniques receives a energy from the source and tunes to unconscious energy provided by the moon.
As I discussed it earlier that chandrasana is being performed after other straight body techniques. First we start the Chandrasana by utthita trikonasana that is called as the triangle posture than we go to the half moon posture.
This posture is rather simple but is only involves the balancing technique. First put your left hand on the left hip. Than extend the left foot towards the right one so that you’re whole weight is on one leg. Now raise your left leg from the ground. And put your right hand on the ground. And put your all the weight on the right leg and hand. Now fully straighten your left leg and the hand. Now for a couple of minutes don’t make any bent in the left hand, leg and the back bone. The raised hand should be making a straight line with the arm on the floor. Now keeping this position for some time that come back to the normal position. This should be cleared that the neck should also be straight and thus there is no chance of muscle pulling.
