Matsya and asana, matsya means fish and asana means posture or pose. It is founded by Hindu’s God Vishnu, and is inspired by the posture of fish. This posture was founded by Vishnu to save people of world from the danger of flood. Matsyasana is basically the shoulder standing pose. It is so easy that anybody can practice it at home, schools, institutes and offices. Matsyasana gives stiffness and proper figure to the upper part of the body; it just not only gives the physical relief but also gives the mental or mind related relief. It removes stress and fatigue from the body, it is suggested best for peoples who sit for a long time in front of computer or spent lot of time in offices. Matsyasana gives nervous tissues a great amount of relief and reduces stress from the nerves. It also is a good technique to remove tensions and work load pressures from the body.
The basic technique to do Matsyasana, is to, lay down on the yoga mattress and relax for a while, now join both legs together, legs must be straight and should be in align with your body. Join both feet and place your hands under your thighs, place your palms just under your legs to grip thighs. Grip must be tight and stiff to support the whole posture. Your elbows should touch the ground, so that later you put the desirable weight or pressure. Now put weight on your elbows to lift your shoulders, your elbows will be pressed down. Drop your head back and lift your shoulders up, while inhaling the air lift up and while exhaling lift them down. Your lower region must be relaxed and calm to concentrate on the upper region.
There are many benefits of Matsyasana, it removes fatigue from the upper region of the body and calms the nerves tissues.Some precautions are, body should be fully warmed up and should be in proper alignment, according to the posture. |
