Sukhasana

     

    Sukhasana is a unique technique in yoga, which is known as easy posture or pleasurable position. As Sukhasana means in Sanskrit, sukha means pleasurable or easy and asana means posture or position. So in yoga, sukhasana technique acts like a standard position, just sitting in cross legged posture. This technique is very unique in the sense of resting your body and calming different parts of body. This technique is practiced by 95 percent of  yoga students all over the world.

    This technique calms different body parts by applying suitable pressure on organs or specific part of the body. Many people with physical difficulties use or practice this technique to remove fatigue and relax their muscles, but many instructors, considers it, to not be effective or reliable in long sessions and in practicing. Guru Ramana Maharshi, consider it to be very effective to enlighten our mind, body and soul. Sukhasana is preffered to be done before Podmasana and Siddhasana techniques.

                Sukhasana is done in the same way as well as on hinduisium and buddhism. The basic technique to practice Sukhasana is to, sit in right position, legs in front, hands at both sides with the help of palm on ground support hands with all fingers together pointing in forward direction. Now fold your legs, right and left moves slowly towards yourself and join soles of both foot together and holding ankles by the hand. Now bring legs slowly under the perineum by the support of knees on the ground, so that whole body gets balance and remains in balance, and body slightly bents in front. Now hold your hands on both knees and fingers should point in forward direction. To return in the previous position, lose legs and gently unfold legs at the original position.
