Uttanasana

     

    Uttanasana is a very intensive pose in yoga. This pose is known as the forward bending pose. Uttanasana is the word derived from the ancient language Sanskrit. In this language ut means intense while tan means extend and stretch and while asana means posture. So by combined meaning the posture suggests that uttanasana means posture which contains intensive forward bending. This posture has a very good impact on the hamstrings and it helps to strengthen them. This pose helps for the stretching and dynamic flow for the blood and the breath in the body.

                The basic instruction for doing this posture is by is by doing it the right way which is as under. This posture involves the following basic steps.

      • Put your arms out of the body and thus fold them in front of the body.
      • Make it sure that t this fold should make the hip bend than the back.
      • Now bring your tips of the finger in a line and then press your palms.
      • Now during this posture use the quadriceps muscles of the thighs more you engage these muscles the more will be the opening of the hamstring.
      • Now this should be clear in the mind that your weight should be towards the ball of the feet and such that the hips are on the ankles.
      • During this posture allow your head to hand with a free flow.
