A woman with monthly menstrual cycle periods or a pregnant lady should keep some specific things in their mind before practicing Yoga. Usual practice of yoga can harm them which could create some disastrous situations. But this ancient culture and belief cannot be forgotten at this juncture and at these critical conditions. Yes, there are some Yoga asanas and Pranayam (which is better known as the inner body yoga) which proves to be very good in the menstrual cycle periods and Pregnancy conditions.
Here we would mainly focus on the menstrual cycle periods. If you perform the usual Yogas’ during this menstrual period it will result in stoppage or may cause some unusual disruptions in the monthly cycle. A good instructor always recommends taking extra precaution during menstruation days because some yoga poses may cause pain to the related organs involved in Menstrual Cycle. Sometimes when excessive bleeding takes place during the monthly periods brings feeling of total tiredness. So, those usual Yoga postures would not help to solve the problem.
Some of the poses mentioned below are the recommended Yoga postures and to be followed when the menstrual period takes place. It will help you in easing heavy bleeding, pelvic discomfort, menstrual cramps, acute backaches and stomach aches. It removes the stress and relaxes you when facing the Periodical cycles. Some of the poses that should be performed during the menstrual cycles are:
- Forward Bend Series – These pose imparts calmness to the body during these unstability conditions.
- Janu Sirsasana – it is the pose of the head and continues to end with the knee pose.
- Paschimottanasana - which is the Full Forward Bend Pose of the body.
- Triang Mukhaikapada Paschimottanasana – which is again the three parts of the body bent forward. You should sit on a chair with a little bend forward posture and your fist should be pressing the lower abdomen.
