Yoga means ‘yog’, again, which means to join two things together, and pronounced as “eeyoge”. The word Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Yuj’ which means union or method to practice. Before getting down with this Yoga, let us gain some knowledge and historical background regarding it.
According to the ancient believes, the body energetically consists of the right dominated male side and the left dominated female side. The Eastern philosophies were the first to believe in this theory. The right and the left portion of the brain are in charge with the responsibilities. The male energy, better known as the ‘sun’ forms the Universe. The Lord Shiva (Hindu God) looks after the universe. Whereas, the female energy familiar with the name ‘moon’ forms the Shakti (power) which is the driven power of this universe. Now, Yoga is all about balancing these two forces.
Today, Yoga has become popular practice for attaining peace of mind and body. You can see males and females practicing Yoga in the playgrounds, gyms, or in homes. People are getting attracted towards it because of its immense ability to cure diseases, keep the body healthy, develop a peace of mind. Meditation is another form of Yoga and is very popular among the male and female working professionals.
